PostHeaderIcon Women Set World Record 26/09/09

Bene il record femminile è stato realizzato!!
Skydivers from 26 countries around the world have been at the Perris Valley Skydiving Center southeast of Los Angeles, California, this week trying to eclipse the existing record of 151 females in the largest freefall formation, and today they did it. After seven practice jumps building up to the hoped-for world record, one jumper was added at the last minute to attempt a 181-way on the sixth record attempt. “It’s the first time we’ve added a person for the record instead of reducing the number,” said chief judge Judy Celaya. What a glorious moment for some of the best skydivers in the world.

Under the auspices of Jump For The Cause, whose goal is to raise money for breast cancer research, each participant brought with them at least $3,500 to support the research program. Surrounded by many good friends and family members, each skydiver knew the goal was attainable and they were right. Watch for a complete report in the November issue of Parachutist magazine.
